Is there a month-to-month subscription option?

A 12 or 6 month contract is required for all subscribers. We've specifically designed our pricing model so that RCSU will fit comfortably into your existing training budget. As staff levels fluctuate throughout the year, we want you to feel comfortable with the knowledge that new staff members will have immediate access to effective onboarding training no matter when they join your team.

Our 6 month option is only available as part of our introductory year of RCSU and when bundled with other RCS services. Contact us to learn more.


I have a great idea for a new course! Who can I talk to?

Fantastic! If you have an idea for a course you'd like to see, we want to hear it. First, please check our "Courses" page to see if we're already on it. If we aren't, drop us a line at info@RCSUniversity.com. We welcome your input!

My staff really needs the courses in Spanish/Chinese/another language. When will you be offering translations?

Translations are coming soon! While we have some courses in English and Spanish, we are working to bring more to the RCSU course catalog. Spanish and Chinese are our top priority at the moment, but if you're in need of another language please contact us at info@RCSUniversity.com and let us know!


I love your training, but I really need it to be customized to my staff. What can you do?

What can't we do? Depending on the investment that you'd like to make, virtually any training that you see on RCSU can be customized for your operation whether you need hospitality training for a private club, a public golf course, a fine dining restaurant, a spa, casino, hotel, or resort.

There are a lot of things we can do. We can create a one-of-a-kind training portal branded with your logo and photos where you can house training videos that are customized to you. We can work with you to add information to each course that is unique to your operation like your traditions, your uniform and grooming standards, your food &  beverage service standards, your standards of operation, and your company culture. We can bring our talented in-house film crew to your location and film your training videos on site, with YOUR staff and YOUR settings.

How does RCS Certification work?

There are four (4) “tracks” of certification available, each with three (3) levels and a specific, unique reward:

Staff

  • Level 1: A signed certificate of completion ready for framing & personalized congratulations card
  • Level 2: Silver pineapple pin
  • Level 3: Gold pineapple pin

Management

  • Level 1: A signed certificate of completion ready for framing & personalized congratulations card
  • Level 2: Silver “double diamond” pin
  • Level 3: Gold “double diamond” pin

Food & Beverage for Staff

  • Level 1: A signed certificate of completion ready for framing & personalized congratulations card
  • Level 2: Enamel food & beverage pin
  • Level 3: Enamel food & beverage pin

Food & Beverage for Management

  • Level 1: A signed certificate of completion ready for framing & personalized congratulations card
  • Level 2: Silver “crossed cutlery” pin
  • Level 3: Gold “crossed cutlery” pin

Certification seekers must complete at least 70% of each level to receive certification for that level. However, you may not move on to the next level of certification without completing ALL items in that level first. For example, you can earn the distinction of Level 2 if you’ve completed 70% of the required coursework, but may not move on to Level 3 until Level 2 is completely finished.

Certifications are valid for two (2) years from the date of award, after which point they must be renewed.

What does it mean to be "RCS Certified"?

Over the years at RCS we've received frequent requests for some sort of certification or formal recognition from those that had completed our in-person RCS training programs. These individuals took great pride in their skills development and effort, and wanted to recognize it on their resumes and in their daily work.

To answer this need and give these go-getters the recognition they deserve, we created the RCS Certification program.

The real competitive advantage of any company is its employees; specifically, how employees interact with each other and the company’s customers. At the heart of every successful business is a well-trained employee. Providing ongoing service and skills training is imperative for a company’s success, and offering ongoing learning opportunities is key to employee engagement and retention.

The RCS Hospitality Group offers onsite and online training certifications that indicate that an employee has taken the necessary steps to keep his or her skills relevant, has an interest in continuous learning, and has completed necessary seminars or course work to best serve their customers and colleagues.

What are "virtual office hours"?

Virtual office hours are just another way we're using technology to better serve our customers. Intended for managers only, these monthly one-hour sessions with RCSU founder Whitney Reid Pennell are a complementary resource to our regular training courses. They're a free-platform opportunity to speak with Whitney about what you've learned, get answers to your most burning questions, make requests for future courses, provide feedback on current courses, and discuss industry issues. Virtual office hours are exclusively for RCSU subscribers.

Is there a limit on how many users I can have within my training portal? How can I keep them all organized?

Currently each portal is limited to the number of unique users at any one time that you select with your pricing model. If a staff member leaves the club, you can erase their user profile and replace it with a new one unique to any new employee that joins your team. If you need more users, please contact us.

We strongly suggest organizing your users by "team". Teams can be divided however you wish, but typically most clients break them up by department: Food & Beverage, Front Desk, Outside Service, Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc. If your club is particularly large, you can create more specific teams based on service area or dining outlet: "F & B Men's Grille" and "F & B Porthole Lounge" for example.

Each team is headed by a "team leader"--usually, that department's manager. He or she can undergo his or her own training in the system at the manager's level, AND keep an eye on how the rest of their department is doing.

STEP 1: Enroll in a FREE Trial following the links on our website.

STEP 2: Navigate to the Training Center (Start Training! button) from the training dashboard panel and select the first "course" called RCSU Subscription. Follow the links to activate your subscription today. You will need to select how many users you plan to train. Have questions? Contact our RCSU Guru, Rachel Carter at rachelc@consultingrcs.com

STEP 3: Set up your onboarding session with Rachel by booking an appointment HERE. Please set aside about 30-45 minutes for this initial training session, though if you have any follow up questions we are happy to conduct additional training as necessary. These virtual training sessions will be video recorded and a copy will be sent to you for your future reference.

Onboarding Training Sessions are also available as pre-recorded sessions with video tutorial provided for your use if you prefer not to schedule a training session with our team.

STEP 4: Once you have activated your subscription and completed your Onboarding Training Session, you are on your way!

What kind of reporting tools are available for me so that I can see how my managers and staff are doing with their training?

So glad you asked. One of the defining factors of the innovative RCSU system is the breadth and depth of the reporting tools available to you. As an account manager, you can view user and progress reports at your convenience or program them to be sent to you at the same time every day, week, or month. You can slice-and-dice the data by date, team or department, access level, or even by individual user. You can view how many times your users have logged in each week or month, and where they are with their training--what courses they've taken, when, and how they did.

This training will be provided to you during your Onboarding Training Session.

I want to give a lecture myself. Where can I sign up?
